Following a decision of the Board Euralarm has welcomed Detectortesters as their newest member. The company will become a member of the Euralarm Fire Section and Services Section. Detectortesters are the world’s pioneering designer and manufacturer of functional test solutions for fire detection systems. With over 50 years of experience in the field of testing, the company’s product range provides a global audience with functional test solutions for smoke, heat, and CO fire detectors and also ASD systems. This not only will help members to better understand the topics and their impact but also act as a guide on prioritizing the actions and the work regarding standardization and certification. Standardization has been and will be an essential platform for the fire industry. Therefore, the section closely monitors the standardization and regulation processes in Europe and contributes to a practical balance between regulatory and voluntary requirements while supporting the process for a more agile approach towards standardization. This cannot be done without valuable partnerships with standardization organizations, associations, and other stakeholders. Services Section While maintaining a focus on established fire and security services, the Euralarm Services Section aims at safeguarding new and innovative services. The Services Section meetings gather experts presenting on actual topics such as the standardization landscape on fire and security services. The section liaises towards key standardization groups and closely follows technological developments to guide regulation and standardization. Concerning standards, the section continues informing members of changes and advocacy activities at both the national and EU levels.
As part of their commitment to measuring their impact on society and the environment, DetectorTesters (DT) have recently taken the first steps in developing their ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) strategy. At the start of the year, Aliola Balla was appointed to the role of ESG Manager and since that time, has made rapid progress in identifying the issues that need to be focused on and bringing members of the team together, in order to understand the actions they need to take. Workshop sessions The workshop sessions provided the opportunity to give the team an insight into ESG meaning, allowing Rawstone Consulting to propose a Materiality Study and suggest a Sustainability Strategy tailored around their business values. With the materiality and ESG strategy now delivered from Rawstone, DetectorTesters will ensure that their company can measure, monitor and improve the impact that processes, people and activities play on the environment and community.
