Available now, these Underwriters Laboratories' (UL) Fire Safety Research Institute courses are focused on coordinated ventilation and suppression tactics for structure fires. Each course focuses on a unique occupancy type, covering: The findings from the experiments in the Study of Coordinated Fire Attack Utilizing Acquired Structures (Coordinated Fire Attack Study), a UL research study supported by an Assistance to Firefighters Grant. The courses The 3 courses are: Impact of Ventilation on Strip Mall Fires: This course, created in collaboration with the Fairborn (Ohio) Fire Department, is supported by 7 experiments in 4 units of a 12-unit acquired strip mall that was slated for demolition. Coordination of Suppression and Ventilation in Multi-Family Dwellings: This course, created in coordination with the Cobb County (Georgia) Fire and Emergency Services Department and Atlanta Fire Rescue, is supported by 13 experiments in 4 separate 3-story, garden-style buildings. Coordination of Suppression and Ventilation in Single-Family Homes: This course, created in collaboration with City of Sidney (Ohio) Fire Department and the Beavercreek Township (Ohio) Fire Department, is supported by 20 experiments in 8 acquired, single-family residential structures.

Baking Memories 4 Kids sells delicious chocolate chip cookies to help children with life threatening and terminal illnesses experience a vacation of a lifetime. Baking Memories 4 Kids’ founder and cancer survivor, Frank Squeo, along with Cobb County Fire & Emergency Services, Engine #7 will be traveling to a family home to share some very special news: They are headed to Disney in September 2019. The Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to appoint William T. (Bill) Johnson to lead Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services. Operations expert Bill Johnson has served for more than 26 years at the fire department, in which he has distinguished himself with his leadership and management skills. He is well-versed in the operations of the fire department, having served in various roles throughout his career. During his employment with Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services, Bill has advanced through the ranks from firefighter to his more recent appointment as one of three Deputy Fire Chiefs, since 2016. Johnson holds a Bachelor's degree from Columbia Southern University in fire science. He is a University of Georgia, Carl Vinson Institute of Government EXCEL graduate. Additionally, Bill is a 2019 graduate of Leadership Cobb.
