The Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to appoint William T. (Bill) Johnson to lead Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services.

Bill Johnson has served for more than 26 years at the fire department, in which he has distinguished himself with his leadership and management skills. He is well-versed in the operations of the fire department, having served in various roles throughout his career.
During his employment with Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services, Bill has advanced through the ranks from firefighter to his more recent appointment as one of three Deputy Fire Chiefs, since 2016. Johnson holds a Bachelor's degree from Columbia Southern University in fire science. He is a University of Georgia, Carl Vinson Institute of Government EXCEL graduate. Additionally, Bill is a 2019 graduate of Leadership Cobb.
