Organizations that are trying to implement policies engaging residents to reduce wildfire risk have found it difficult to get buy-in from local officials, which is necessary for effective and sustainable wildlife risk reduction.
This National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) webinar will be pre-faced with a high-level overview of a case study review of how nine wildfire-prone communities around the world are engaging residents and local officials for wildfire risk reduction and sustaining their efforts.
Following this overview, there will be a panel discussion with implementers and elected officials from two separate communities (in the United States of America and Spain) to discuss what is being done to reduce wildfire risks in the region and how they are working with government officials to help sustain the risk reduction efforts.
