Tyco Ansul Jet-X Foam Generator
Product Profile
The ANSUL JET-X High-Expansion Foam Generator range from TYCO FIRE SUPPRESSION & BUILDING PRODUCTS [TFS&BP], a business unit of Tyco International Ltd., is fast establishing its effectiveness for both total flooding and local application firefighting across a broad spectrum of Class A and Class B [Class B and Class C in Europe, Australia and Asia] fires hazards. This includes high-hazard high-risk applications such as aircraft hangers and flammable liquid stores, gas turbine generators and transformer rooms, hazardous waste storage facilities and ships’ holds and engine rooms.
Specific models are also proving their reliable efficiency in controlling Liquefied Natural Gas [LNG] fires. This is because the ANSUL JET-X High-Expansion Foam Concentrate blocks heat feedback from the flames to the LNG thereby reducing the vaporization rate. It also reduces vapour concentrations downwind from unignited LNG and other hazardous low-boiling-point gaseous products, such as ammonia spills.
Among its many firefighting and end user benefits, JET-X High-Expansion Foam Generators require only a small amount of water to produce large quantities of expanded foam. In addition to minimising the damage to the structure or its contents, this extremely low water content means that high-expansion foams can be used in and around many types of electrical equipment, as has been confirmed by tests conducted by the world-renowned Massachusetts Institute of Technology [MIT]. The potential for hazardous run-off is also significantly reduced.
