Director of Standards, British Standards InstitutionScott Steedman is Director of Standards at BSI, where he is responsible for the UK National Standards Body, representing the UK internationally and advising industry and government on the role of standardisation and knowledge transfer in innovation and economic growth. Formerly an academic at Cambridge University, Scott has spent the last twenty years working on major infrastructure and building projects in the UK and around the world. He has specialized in risk and natural disasters, earthquake engineering, forensic engineering, organisational change and innovation strategy and has worked for major consulting and contracting companies in the construction sector. Scott is also a Vice President of the Register of Engineers for Disaster Relief and a Board member of the Port of London Authority. He is a former Vice President of the Royal Academy of Engineering.
