President, Sea-Fire MarineErnest Ellis, Jr. has been president of Sea-Fire Marine, USA since 1989 and managing director of Sea-Fire Europe, Ltd. since its inception in 2001. Sea-Fire Marine, a manufacturer of marine fire detection & suppression products, offers clean agent fire suppression systems for mechanical applications where damage to sensitive equipment is a concern. Systems are designed for engine compartments from 25 cubic feet up to 1800 cubic feet- “pre-engineered systems” and engineered systems up to 17,500 cubic feet in accordance with IMO regulations. Sea-Fire systems carry various approvals including US Coast Guard, FM Global, and numerous international marine approvals, and are standard installation parts for an extensive list of OEM boatbuilders in the United States and abroad. Acknowledged for his success in opening new foreign markets with Sea-Fire’s line of responsible fire suppression systems, Mr. Ellis was presented with Baltimore County’s Going Global Award in 2002, and subsequently received Maryland’s Export Achievement Award. He was recognized as one of the top 10 leaders whose entrepreneurial spirit, determination, creativity and cultural sensitivity met the needs of the global marketplace as a finalist for the Maryland International Business Awards . Ernest Ellis is an active member of the American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC), serving on the A4 Fire Fighting Committee; a member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA); and an active committee exhibition member on the international Marine Equipment Trade show “ METS”, demonstrating his ongoing commitment to both the maritime and fire suppression industries and his dedication to environmental protection with the latest NOVEC 1230 fire suppression systems. Additionally, in year 2012, Mr Ellis launched Global Tec Solutions LLC, an international distributor of high quality and environmentally responsible products. His education includes a B.A. from Loyola University in Baltimore and a Masters Degree from the University of Baltimore.
