Honeywell has announced that it has joined forces with a group of pioneering industry partners to help deliver more detailed contextual information about commercial fire emergencies to first responders. In a fire emergency response, firefighters are typically only given a simple building address, before they arrive on site. By sharing data from either the fire communicator radio at the building or from a monitoring station, this group will provide first responders with access to the important incident locations and contact information – which could include a detailed map and other critical visual information – helping to increase their speed, accuracy and improve how to address the event when arriving on site. Author's quote “Time is critical when responding to an emergency situation,” said Sameer Agrawal, Vice President and General Manager, Commercial Fire Americas, Honeywell Building Technologies. He adds, “We are continuously looking at how we can leverage the latest technologies to help improve the time it takes for first responders to arrive at an emergency, and how we can equip them with more accurate and robust information. With that in mind, we continuously study and analyze every step of the emergency communications path to help first responders stay safer, while also helping to minimize property damage and save more lives.” Open and secure fire service platform Honeywell’s open and secure fire service platform allows authorized partners to contribute information Honeywell’s open and secure fire service platform allows each authorized partner to contribute information regarding the emergency (e.g., type and location of incident), as well as, building information (e.g., hazards or on-site contact personnel) and share that information via mobile apps directly with the first responders dispatched to the incident. Honeywell, Telguard, NAPCO Security Technologies, and Resideo fire communicators, which connect fire panels to the monitoring station and monitoring station partners, Emergency24 and Rapid Response Monitoring, which receive emergency event data and then manually communicate that data to emergency communications centers, will now digitally send a copy of the alarm data to the Honeywell platform. Firefighter mobile app Firefighter mobile app providers, IamResponding, Active911, and Honeywell’s US Digital Designs, which first responders use to manage their incoming dispatches, will pull the data from the platform to deliver the critical emergency information to the apps when dispatched. Together, this group of partners can help provide important incident data from commercial buildings to nearly one million first responders in the United States. This arms about 80% of U.S. firefighters with better information should they be dispatched to one of these buildings.
NAPCO Security Technologies introduces new easy cloud-based programming available for its award-winning, cost-saving FireLink® FACPs with onboard LCD annunciator and LTE cellular, or Cell/IP communicator, in new dual path model. To offer pros more convenience and flexibility, cloud-based programming allows the FireLink to be programmed from any smart device or tablet, using easy drop-down menus (No special software, training or laptop required). FireLink Integrated 8-32 Pt Fire Alarm Control Panels start off as an 8-point, all-in-one cellular FACP solution, pre-programmed with an 8-point conventional default program, ideal for sprinkler supervisory, out-of-the-box. Cloud-programming But now the cloud-programming adds ease of expanding and customizing the programming and panel across its max. 32 zones, using any mix of conventional, addressable &/or wireless devices. In addition to new cloud programming, Dual Path FireLink models are now available on choice of the Nation’s broadest AT&T® LTE and Verizon® LTE Cellular Networks for the best coverage everywhere (original sole path in Verizon LTE). FireLink incorporates StarLink LTE’s superior cell performance with both Signal Boost™ amplification circuitry and twin dual diversity, precision LTE twin antennae design, maximizing signal acquisition, and avoiding multipath-effect clash-avoidance, to which single-antenna cell designs are prone.
To help dealers seeking a low-cost cell solution to update and safeguard countless Vista® Panel accounts faced with sunsets & disappearing POTs, Napco introduces new StarLink® Connect-DL Dual Function Cell/IP Communicators. They offer the easiest painless cell migration path and enable fast full programming & remote up/downloading via familiar Compass® software, plus choice of AT&T® LTE or Verizon® LTE networks and any central station. Eliminating Power Supplies For $9.95 net per StarLink Connect-DL, any Honeywell® Vista Account can be traded-up from POTs, old radios, sunsetting networks, or even new construction, in about 10-minutes and 4 simple steps using the StarLink Free for All Program™. Panel-Powered™ (eliminating power supplies) and proven to work where others won't, all StarLink's use Signal Boost and Twin Dual Diversity Antennae (receiving signals on both at once), and come to preactivated to ensure communications before going onsite. For more on all-new StarLink Connect Dual Function 'DL' units, now on AT&T LTE or Verizon LTE networks (#SLE-LTEA-CDL and SLE-LTEV-CDL, respectively) ask at any Napco Distributor, and ask for Spec Sheet A739B + free customizable Mailers/Statement Stuffers or, visit Napco at ISC East NYC Booth #203.
