Nicki Vaca has been promoted to the position of Business Optimization Manager for HURST Jaws of Life, a unit of IDEX Fire & Safety, drawing on her two decades of experience and senior leadership roles with the industry’s major global manufacturer of rescue tools. Most recently, she held the position of Manager of Operations at HURST Jaws of Life’s Shelby, North Carolina headquarters. Nicki Vaca has also held key roles in operations, IT, facilities and planning, and customer care, during her 20-year tenure with HURST Jaws of Life. Extrication solutions for first responders In the new position, Nicki Vaca will assume ownership of the company’s Continuous Improvement projects, contributing to HURST Jaws of Life’s unceasing commitment to ensure it provides innovative and exceptional extrication solutions to first responders. Nicki Vaca will also oversee IT/business systems and project funnels, as well as continue to support major facilities projects for the organization.

The new promotions and role expansions recognize 11 company leaders and industry experts. The promotions include several leadership positions for IDEX North American Fire & Safety. Danny Teixeira’s role as Vice President of the Fire Suppression Group (FSG), now expands to include Akron Brass, Eldon, F&S Electronics and Hale. Brian Houk’s role as Vice President of Commercial Strategy & Execution will now include the FSG and HURST Commercial teams and Alyson McWherter’s role as Director of Business Optimization broadens to include Hale, Akron, Weldon, Godiva, AWG and HURST Jaws of Life brands. Taking the helm of Plant Operations at HURST Jaws of Life is Jeff Jasmin, who was promoted from his post of Director of Supply Chain and Quality to Acting Site Lead at HURST. Jeff Jasmin holds an MBA degree from Indiana University. Kris Farris has been named Site Leader at Hale and he holds an MBA degree from the University of Florida. The IDEX Fire & Safety North America and Commercial teams get new leadership in Sales and Marketing. Former HURST Jaws of Life Director of Marketing, Bruce Johnston has been promoted to the role of Fire & Safety NA Director of Marketing, growing the brands under his watch to include HURST Jaws of Life, Akron Brass, Hale and F&S Electronics. HURST Jaws of Life’s Mike Canon takes on the title of Director of Rescue Sales. More new appointments Additionally, Erin Spivey, the Vice President of HR-FSG & NA Fire & Safety, will expand her current role to include AWG and HURST Jaws of Life’s Human Resources Divisions, while Laetitia Mace has been promoted to the position of FSG Marketing & Business Development Manager - Europe.
