Steve Pinkston Promoted To RMEP Plant Manager at Cummins; John Judd To Lead North America

Cummins Inc. announced that, effective November 2, Steve Pinkston is being named the Rocky Mount Engine Plant (RMEP) Plant Manager. Pinkston will replace John Judd, who, also effective November 2, is being named the North America Operations Leader for Cummins-Meritor. Pinkston will be the 13th plant manager since the plant opened in Whitakers, North Carolina in 1981. The midrange diesel and natural gas engine plant has manufactured nearly 5 million engines and produces engines for more than 500 customers and employs approximately 1,800 people. “I’m extremely excited to have someone of Steve’s caliber to take the reins at RMEP,” said Ed Andros, Executive Director, Manufacturing Custodial Plants, Cummins. “Steve is a pressure tested and courageous leader who can plan strategically and execute tactically at the same time. Rocky Mount Engine Plant is well positioned with Steve at the helm for the next phase of our journey.” 11-year run Most recently, Pinkston has acted as the North American Director of Supply Continuity since 2020. Throughout his 11-year run with Cummins, he began his career working as a Supplier Development Engineer focused within stampings and fabrication. Since then, he has advanced to managerial roles within the sourcing and supplier risk divisions and served as the Cummins Emissions Systems (CES) Purchasing Director for three years. Pinkston has a strong understanding of the Cummins supply base and continues to lead significant operational improvements throughout the RMEP supply chain. Pinkston’s education Pinkston holds a Bachelor of Science in Operations and Supply Chain Management Pinkston holds a Bachelor of Science in Operations and Supply Chain Management from Iowa State University and a Master of Business Administration from Indiana University. During his career, he has demonstrated the ability to lead large teams and drive sustainable processes and results within supply chain. He enjoys outdoor activities in his free time and resides with his wife and three sons. The next phase In the next phase of his journey, Judd will serve as the North America Operations Leader for Cummins-Meritor. Having completed the acquisition of Meritor, Inc., in August 2022, Judd will help with the integration of Meritor’s products and capabilities. His new role will be an important step in achieving net-zero emissions as Cummins positions itself as a leading provider of integrated powertrain solutions across internal combustion and electric power applications. Working with Judd Pinkston began his career on the RMEP shop floor as an engine assembly technician Beginning his career on the RMEP shop floor as an engine assembly technician, Judd has been with Cummins for more than 34 years and has held numerous roles. Since 2016, Judd has served as the RMEP Plant Manager and led the charge in modernizing facilities, creating more efficient plant practices, and continuing to drive innovation for sustainable and profitable growth. Judd has been a pillar in the local community serving as an executive board member of the local chamber of commerce and as the board chair of the Strategic Twin Counties Education Partnership (STEP). He has continually served for the people of RMEP and for the local community. Pinkston plans to continue the strong community engagement of previous leaders, including Judd. Cummins India Launches "redefine 2022", Its Flagship B-school Case Study Competition

Cummins India announces the launch of ‘REDEFINE’, a national level B-school case study competition for students from 12 partner business schools in India. This competition presents the students with a business problem based on real-life challenges faced by organizations and invites them to showcase their strategic, innovative, and analytical abilities. Comprising multiple rounds, the competition will be launched on October 21 and will culminate with a two-day grand finale event to be held at the Cummins India office campus in Pune, Maharashtra on November 22-23. The winning team will receive a cash prize and enrollment to a mentorship program with Cummins India leadership. Cummins, Hyliion To Optimize Natural-Gas Engine For Hypertruck ERX

Cummins and Hyliion are joining forces to optimize the Cummins natural gas engine as the generator for the Hypertruck ERX powertrain, an electric range extender semi-truck powertrain solution using onboard power generation to recharge the batteries. Together the companies plan to obtain key environmental certifications for Cummins’ natural gas internal combustion engines to be used in Hyliion’s Hypertruck ERX powertrain. Hyliion Hypertruck ERX The Hyliion Hypertruck ERX offers 75 miles of electric range to qualify for credits under California’s upcoming ZEV mandates and can achieve up to 1,000 miles of full range through the generator, greatly reducing range anxiety, according to the announcement. Cummins’ ISX12N will be optimized with the Hyliion Hypertruck ERX so it can use the existing 700 natural gas stations across North America for refueling. And when fueled with renewable natural gas, it can provide net-negative carbon emissions to commercial fleets. electric and natural gas powertrain Hyliion Hypertruck ERX solution is key to offering our customers a portfolio of powertrains across many fuel options" “We are excited to work with Hyliion to offer this range extender electric and natural gas powertrain in the North America heavy-duty truck market,” said J. Integrating our engine with the Hyliion Hypertruck ERX solution is key to offering our customers a portfolio of powertrains across many fuel options to meet their sustainability goals.”  Production Thomas Healy, founder, and CEO of Hyliion said attaining EPA and CARB certifications is a key step on the company’s production path. The start of production for the Hypertruck ERX with the ISX12N Cummins natural gas power is anticipated to begin in late 2023.
