Margot McDaniels Appointed As Service And Inspections Salesperson

Cox Fire appoints Margot McDaniels to its Jacksonville branch. She has accepted the position of Service and Inspections salesperson in the Jacksonville office. Margot has been in the fire protection industry for 10 years. She and her husband owned a very successful fire protection company in NC from 2010 through 2017. Her expertise in the industry includes experience in everything from accounting, HR, permits, and licensing to advertising and marketing.

Cox Fire Protection Appoints Richard Holloway To The Position Of Contract Manager

The President of Cox Fire Protection, Inc. Scott Cox is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Holloway to the position of Contract Manager for Cox Fire Protection. Richard celebrates his 30th year with Cox Fire Protection this year. Entire contract department Richard’s responsibilities at Cox Fire Protection will relate directly to the functions of managing the field operations for the entire contract department across the Jacksonville, Ocala, Tampa, Orlando, and Ft Myers markets. He will use his vast experience to teach and train the superintendents at those respective branches while continuing to superintend projects of his own in Tampa. Please congratulate Richard and give him full cooperation as he continues to maintain and strengthen the contract markets. He has assumed his new role officially and will continue to work out of the Tampa office.

Cox Fire Provides Fire Sprinklers To Enhance Fire Security At USF Morsani College Of Medicine Building

Cox Fire is pleased to have been selected as the Fire Sprinkler Contractor for USF Health’s downtown Water Street Morsani College of Medicine building. The Victaulic Vortex system installed at USF Morsani consists of 7 total zones. The zones are supplied by a common manifold filled with 44 nitrogen tanks. The manifold is release via 2 common fluid releasing panels to the zone in alarm. Each zone is controlled by 1-2 zone panels that release the air-nitrogen into the system when tripped. Fighting heart disease The USF Health Morsani College of Medicine and Heart Institute is moving in 2019, bringing approximately 1,800 students, faculty, and staff to live, work and study along the downtown waterfront as a key anchor at Water Street Tampa. The USF Health Taneja College of Pharmacy will start classes there in fall 2021. By moving within a mile of its primary teaching hospital Tampa General Hospital, USF will attract the brightest students and faculty and will increase federal research dollars to fight heart disease. Clinical teaching labs What: 395,000 sq. ft., 13-story high rise tower including a 400-seat auditorium (that can split into two 200-seat lecture halls), clinical teaching labs, smaller classrooms, and research laboratories to support the Morsani College of Medicine, Taneja College of Pharmacy and Heart Institute Where: Corner of Channelside Drive and Meridian Avenue, part of Strategic Property Partners’ $3 billion Water Street Tampa development, destined to become the world’s first WELL certified city district When: Opening late 2019 (construction began in summer 2017) Who: Occupancy for up to 1,800 students, faculty, researchers, and staff World-Class simulation The downtown site will position the medical and pharmacy schools in proximity to USF Health’s primary teaching and a clinical affiliate, Tampa General Hospital, as well as its world-class simulation center, the USF Health Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation, and other surrounding facilities. TGH will also lease nearly 25,000 square feet in the building, including spaces for urgent care, imaging, and executive wellness. The announcement of the expansion of the Morsani College of Medicine into the downtown district is already a positive impact on recruiting top-tier students. USF has become the most selective medical school in Florida, with applications rising 40% since the 2014 announcement of the downtown move. With more than 30 applicants vying for each seat in the MD program, incoming student credentials have skyrocketed, and the MCAT scores for the past four entering classes were in the top 10% of all U.S. medical schools.
