Yorkshire Ambulance Service has ordered 650 Pacific rescue helmets for use by ambulance workers, paramedics, nurses and doctors who respond to emergency medical incidents - the largest order ever received by suppliers Vimpex from one single Ambulance Trust. Since 2008, it has been realized by ambulance services that use of professional safety helmets rather than hard-hat style products mitigate the risk of injury to workers operating in potentially dangerous environments.

professional rescue helmets

Whereas plastic hard-hats have very low compressive strength and can be subject to damage from the sun and exposure to chemicals and heat, professional rescue helmets are designed with the rescuer in mind. The Pacific rescue helmet range represents the most versatile and configurable helmet of its type available, offering the most up-to-date and modern form of head protection in a very comfortable, lightweight and wearable package.

Manufactured using a fiberglass reinforced composite shell, they provide the perfect combination of safety, balance and wearer comfort. Use of fiber reinforced materials means that Pacific rescue helmets have less mass than those manufactured from thermoplastics. Pacific helmets are fully serviceable.

Every part can be quickly and easily removable without the use of special tools. Cost of ownership is therefore minimized as repairs and replacement of all components is simple. Pacific helmets are tested in the most extreme conditions required for conformity to relevant clauses of the stringent EN 443 standard.

Established in 1994, Vimpex is one of the UK's renowned independent manufacturer and distributor of fire detection, alarm and evacuation, signaling and building infrastructure system products - both Vimpex manufactured and supplied by the company's manufacturing partners.
