In 2023, Vietnam experienced a staggering 3,440 fires, resulting in the tragic loss of 146 lives, with 109 individuals sustaining injuries.
The economic toll was equally devastating, with property losses estimated at approximately 878 billion Vietnamese dong (US$36.1 million). These alarming statistics underscore the critical need for heightened vigilance and stringent fire safety regulations.
fire safety standards
Several projects have been undertaken, prompting the establishment of robust fire safety standards. One such standard is the National Standard TCVN 3254:1989, which outlines fire safety requirements for both fire prevention and fire protection systems.
This standard meticulously details the utilization of collective and personal protective equipment, the deployment of firefighting equipment, the installation of smoke exhaust systems, and the implementation of automatic fire alarms and other alarm devices, all of which are imperative for industrial and facility construction.
