The Lyncourt Fire Department in Syracuse, New York is expanding its fleet with the firefighting versatility of a new aerial. Manufactured by Toyne Fire Apparatus, the fire truck boasts nimble maneuverability, powerful pumping, and impressive reach to combat fires in tall structures or anywhere a situation arises.

Built on a Spartan Gladiator EMFD chassis with a 10-inch raised roof, this Toyne Aerial is powered by a reliable Cummins ISX12 500 horsepower engine. The apparatus is driven by an Allison 4000 EVS transmission and carries a strong firefighting force. Lyncourt’s aerial is outfitted with a Hale Qmax-XS 2,000-gallon-per-minute pump, which is controlled by a Fire Research InControl 400 pressure governor and supplied by a UPF 500-gallon tank.

Designed for even the hardest-to-reach fires and rescue attempts, this apparatus has a 110-foot, rear-mount LTC steel ladder with the stability of a 750-pound tip load. LED lights are included on the ladder rungs for improved safety and visibility, allowing firefighters to maintain awareness during high-pressure situations. In addition to these features, Lyncourt’s aerial is stocked with a hydraulic generator, FoamPro 2002 Class A foam system and LED scene lights, allowing the department to be prepared for any call.

Quality Fire Apparatus

The community of Lyncourt is located slightly north of Syracuse, New York, with a population of around 4,000. This aerial is the Lyncourt Fire Department’s second Toyne apparatus after they purchased a pumper in 2014. With nearly four years of smooth, effective service from that engine and an appreciation of Toyne’s workmanship, the department’s leadership said there was no question they would come back to Toyne.

We appreciate Lyncourt returning to Toyne for another apparatus, and we were proud to build this aerial for them,” said Michael Schwabe, president and CEO of Toyne, Inc. “We are driven to produce quality fire apparatus for all of our customers because they bravely put their lives on the line for others every day.”

The aerial was sold to Lyncourt by J.P.B. Fire Service, Inc., a Toyne dealer based out of Syracuse, New York.
