Survitec Group has been part of the YPO Framework Agreement since June 2014

Survitec will provide body harnesses, rescue slings, shock absorbing lanyards, static ropes, karabiners and pulleys

Survitec Group, a global leader in the manufacture, supply, inspection, testing and maintenance of safety and survival equipment, has been awarded a contract by Kent Fire and Rescue Service to supply bespoke packs of safe access equipment for use by fire crew when working at height.

The equipment was purchased through a Yorkshire Purchasing Organisation (YPO) Framework Contract, which includes Survitec Group as an approved supplier of emergency response equipment.

Equipment conforms to BS EN standards

Survitec will pull together a range of items including full body harnesses, rescue slings, shock absorbing lanyards, static ropes, karabiners, pulleys and other components to create 35 standard packs of equipment that can be easily carried in a portable holdall. An additional three packs will be supplied with a slightly different configuration. All the equipment conforms to BS EN standards and it is supplied with Kent FRS unique identification numbers laser etched into the products.

Survitec Group has been part of the YPO Framework Agreement since June 2014. The company has a number of product listings covering water rescue protective clothing, working at height equipment, lifejackets and flotation devices and small rescue tools.

Four-year contract with Survitec

Said David Courtney, Survitec's Product Manager - Industrial Services: "We are very pleased that Kent Fire and Rescue Service chose to place this four year contract with Survitec. These bespoke packs are easy to store on fire appliances and contain everything fire crew need to work safely at height at the scene of an emergency.

"As a company we have been supplying rescue equipment to the fire and rescue services in England, Wales and Scotland for many years. Over the last decade, we have supplied over 85% of all UK fire brigades with lifejackets. This order demonstrates the range of safety equipment Survitec can supply to the emergency services."

YPO provides a professional procurement service that enables public sector organisations to benefit from cost and efficiency savings. With an annual turnover in excess of £400 million, YPO is the largest formally constituted public sector buying organisation in the UK.
