Virtually indestructible - new models have nearly double brightness
Streamlight® Inc. announced it has introduced enhanced versions of its leading tactical gun-mount TLR-1® and TLR-2® lights, offering law enforcement officers and tactical personnel extraordinary brightness in low-light situations with new power C4™ LED technology. The TLR-2 also comes equipped with an integrated laser sight.
Providing up to 7,000 candela peak beam intensity and up to 135 lumens measured system output, the TLR-1 and TLR-2 lights nearly double the brightness of the earlier models with the next advance in LED technology. The C4 LEDs are impervious to shock with a 50,000-hour lifespan. In addition, Streamlight's proprietary deep-dish parabolic reflector provides a long-range targeting beam with optimum peripheral illumination to aid in navigation.
"Streamlight's TLR-1 and TLR-2 lights with new power C4 LED technology provide law enforcement and tactical personnel with abundant, targeted light under often dangerous, low-light circumstances," said Streamlight Chief Operating Officer Ray Sharrah. "Designed for ease of use and safety, the tactical lights are easily mounted to firearms and detached with a one-handed snap-on-and-tighten interface - without the need for tools and without the user's hand passing in front of the muzzle."
With extensively live-fire tested impact-resistant construction, both the TLR-1 and TLR-2 are made with 6000-series machined aircraft aluminum with black anodized main body finish. Both lights provide up to three hours of continuous runtime to the 10% output level.
The TLR-2 also has a high-impact, chemically resistant engineering polymer laser housing and offers up to 45 hours of run time in laser-only mode.
Both lights offer a momentary-to-steady on-off switch, readily accessible by either right or left hands. The TLR-2 also provides a three-position mode selector switch for laser only, LED only, or both modes together.
Securely fitting to a broad range of weapons, the TLR-1 and TLR-2 mount directly to handguns with Glock-style rails and 1913/Picatinny rails. Both the TLR-1 and TLR-2 come with keys for Glock-style, Picatinny, Beretta 90two, S&W 99 and S&W TSW rails.
The TLR-1 weighs 4.18 ounces while the TLR-2 weighs 4.72 ounces. Both measure 3.26 inches in length. The TLR-1 and TLR-2 are powered by two 3-volt CR123A lithium batteries, which have a storage life of 10 years. Both lights are backed by Streamlight's limited lifetime warranty.
