Streamlight®, Inc., a leading flashlight manufacturer for fire and rescue applications, announced today it has upgraded its 4AA Helmet Lighting Kit to include the new Blackjack Helmet Mount by 1445 Designs. The kit includes an innovative design to securely hold an included 4AA ProPolymer® Lux LED flashlight to many traditional and modern style fire helmets. The mount also can be purchased separately as an accessory.

The universal lighting kit, which also includes a rubber helmet strap and an Allen wrench, offers fire departments a low-profile, lightweight, economical alternative for mounting the 4AA ProPolymer Lux to almost any style of structural firefighting helmet. The kit was introduced at FDIC in April this year.

"Firefighters appreciate the long life, extraordinary brightness and reliability of this durable, yet lightweight light," said Streamlight Chief Operating Officer Ray Sharrah. "Now they can attach the light to their helmet more securely than ever before using the new Blackjack Helmet Mount. This durable, lightweight, aluminum mount is designed to attach to the brim of a wide variety of firefighter helmets for a snug, low- profile fit." The slotted rubber strap offers firefighters a basic, "no tools required" alternative for attaching the light to almost any helmet, Sharrah added.

The 4AA ProPolymer Lux contains a 1 Watt Super High Flux LED, providing a longer-reaching, brighter beam that is ten times brighter than a standard-high intensity LED. Powered by four included "AA" batteries, it provides up to 3,500 candela peak beam intensity and 42 lumens measured system output. The light features a continuous run time of 4 hours at full intensity, with 2 additional hours of declining useable output.

Weighing only 7.52 ounces with batteries and measuring just 7 inches long, the 4AA ProPolymer Lux has a body constructed of a polymer engineering resin that is virtually indestructible, shock resistant and non-conductive. The light features a pushbutton tailcap switch for easy, one-handed operation even with gloved hands, is "O" ring sealed for water resistance, and is ergonomically optimized for maximum handling comfort. The lens is made of unbreakable polycarbonate with a scratch-resistant coating, and the lens cover is also made from the same impact resistant polymer as the body.

The 4AA ProPolymer Lux has been approved by Underwriters Laboratories Inc. for Class 1, Division 2 use.

The Blackjack Helmet Mount is made from solid machined aluminum to provide both corrosion and impact resistance. The rubber helmet strap is made of engineered high-strength rubber.
