Sprue joins a host of well-known successful brands - including Innocent, Cath Kidston, Carphone Warehouse and Jack Wills - in receiving this recognition
Sprue Aegis has earned a place in the Sunday Times Fast Track 100 league table for fifth year

Coventry-based Sprue Aegis has once again been recognised as one of Britain’s 100 top performing private companies, earning a place for the fifth year running in this year’s Sunday Times Fast Track 100 league table.

This listing ranks Sprue alongside Innocent Drinks as the only other company in Fast Track’s 16-year history to be listed for five consecutive years and is the only manufacturing company in the Midlands to appear five times.

Sprue is Europe’s leading home safety products supplier. With its head office in Coventry the company designs, manufactures and sells smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and other safety related products throughout Europe under the FireAngel, First Alert, BRK and Dicon brands.

Compiled by Fast Track and published in The Sunday Times each December, The Sunday Times Fast Track 100 is the definitive league table of Britain’s fastest-growing private companies, based on sales over the last three years.

Sprue Aegis is at number 92 on the 2012 list. This has been achieved through exceptional organic growth in sales of 53% per year over the past three years to 2011, taking turnover from £9.4m in 2008 to £33.3m in 2011.

Sprue joins a host of well-known successful brands - including Innocent, Cath Kidston, Carphone Warehouse and Jack Wills - in receiving this recognition for its performance and positive contribution to the economy.

Since last year’s achievement, Sprue has announced an exclusive agreement with B&Q - the UK's largest home improvement retailer - to supply its entire range of smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and other safety related products. The company has also entered into an agreement to supply British Gas Services Limited with carbon monoxide alarms through its wholly owned subsidiary Pace Sensors. These agreements represent a clear endorsement of Sprue as an innovative and trusted supplier.

Graham Whitworth, Chairman and Group CEO commented: “To be recognised in the Fast Track 100 league table is in itself a great triumph, but to be recognised for five years running is a tremendous achievement – particularly in challenging economic times. This demonstrates how a clear focus from a dedicated team is a powerful combination for consistent growth.

“We’re extremely proud of our achievement and continue in our commitment to the company’s core philosophy of creating innovative products that save lives.”
