Company's TETRA radios enabled effective communications at the event Sepura TETRA radios were used for personnel communications at this year's Mediterranean Games
Sepura TETRA radios enabled the smooth running of the 2009 Mediterranean Games which took place in Pescara, Italy, from 25 June to 5 July, 2009. The radios were supplied to the event's organising committee by GEG SRL, one of Sepura's Italian partners.
The Mediterranean Games, organised every four years, stand as the greatest sporting event of the Mediterranean region, attracting the participation of the maritime countries where Europe, Africa and Asia meet. This year athletes from 23 countries competed in 28 sports.
Sepura hand-held radios were an integral part of a digital communication solution delivered by GEG in the record time of just one week! The solution, which included a TETRA infrastructure and a geo-localisation system, provided complete coverage to the extensive area in which all the sport competitions took place.
Sepura radios' in-built and highly-sensitive GPS device allowed the event's organisers and support personnel to be precisely tracked and appropriately deployed for each task whenever and wherever requirements arose.
