SealSkinz has introduced its revolutionary waterproof technology
Waterproof socks, gloves and hats, especially manufactured for emergency service markets

The new range of waterproof socks, gloves and hats to be unveiled at the Emergency Services Show 2009.

Leading outdoor accessories manufacturer SealSkinz will introduce its revolutionary waterproof technology to the industrial, emergency service and corporate clothing markets, with the launch of the new SealSkinz Duty range of socks, gloves and hats.

Sold under the tagline 'Protection in the Elements' the range has been created to cater for ever wetter and colder UK winters. Each product is specially designed to offer the ultimate in waterproof, breathable, windproof and hard-wearing protection. They are ideal for anyone working outdoors keeping them warm, dry and comfortable at all times, especially people in industrial, emergency services, security, utility, council, airport, postal, and corporate markets.

The majority of products are made with unique SealSkinz patented technology, which works via a seamless three-layer construction - an outer, a waterproof highly breathable membrane, plus an inner lining. Three types of glove have been CE and EN approved, undergoing SATRA testing  to prove resistance to:

  • Water penetration, micro-organisms and blood borne pathogens
  • Water vapour permeability
  • Abrasion, cuts, tears and punctures
  • Petrol, oil and lubricants
  • Burning heat, contact heat, convective heat and radiant heat

Andrew Dahl, managing director of SealSkinz, said: "Many existing socks, gloves and hats are notoriously low tech, uncomfortable and offer no protection against wet and cold conditions.

SealSkinz introduces waterproof technology to the industrial, emergency service and corporate clothing markets

"We discovered that outdoor workforces were buying existing SealSkinz products on the high street - and launched the Duty range to specifically cater for the great demand from industrial, emergency services and corporate organisations. The Duty range was under development for 18 months, receiving feedback from organisations such as the MOD. Our CE and EN accreditations prove they will protect the wearer - plus offer warmth, dryness and comfort at all times. Their ground-breaking design and technology will make a huge difference for outdoor personnel, protecting them from the weather and helping them to focus on the job in hand."

The SealSkinz Duty range comprises 17 products - suitable for a variety of outdoor working conditions. It includes the Utility Glove, Heavy Duty Utility Glove, Flame Retardant Utility Glove, Thermal Liner Glove, Heavy Duty Cold Weather Glove, All Weather Padded Glove, Utility Cycle Glove, Ladies Utility Cycle Glove, All Purpose Glove, Thermal Riding Glove, Outdoor Cold Weather Glove, Lightweight Sock, Boot Sock, Thermal Liner Sock, Cold Weather Hat, Waterproof Beanie Hat and Under Headwear Cap.
