Rosenbauer's TWISTER firefighting boots: these innovative new boots have won a prestigious 'Red Dot' product design award

Innovative firefighter boots receive design award

TWISTER, the latest ROSENBAUER firefighting boots, have been bestowed the "red dot award" for product design.

The "red dot" seal of quality is a globally sought-after design award. This year, it was again extremely difficult for the internationally renowned panel of experts to make a selection from the total of 3,231 applications by about 1,400 companies from 49 countries.

The special feature of the new TWISTER is that the boot is not tied with laces, but rather using an especially tearproof stainless steel cord. This cord is guided using robust guide parts and is gathered together and secured in a push-and-turn button. When the push-and-turn button is pulled out, the lock is undone in a flash. This makes it possible for the boot to be put on and taken off very quickly. The boot can be also readjusted very easily at any time.

Firefighting boots must provide protection against heat, cold, flames, sparks and sharp objects, and should also be easy to put on quickly. Using the new BOA lacing system (BOA is a registered brand name of BOA Technology Inc.), which has also been adapted to the sports industry, the new ROSENBAUER firefighting boots are much easier to put on than any previous products.

ROSENBAUER products are international trendsetters in terms of quality, functions and design. Numerous awards confirm our leading role as a frontrunner in innovation and technology in our field. The PANTHER ARFF vehicle and the Metz L32 aerial ladder have already received the renowned red dot design award.
