With the release of the HEROS H30, Rosenbauer is launching a new smart protective helmet for fire departments.

The three-quarter shell helmet offers maximum safety with minimum weight. It meets the highest protection levels of EN 443 for internal attacks and weighs approx. 1,235 grams (without attachments) significantly less than comparable type A helmets. Especially with longer periods of use, every gram that is not placed on the helmet wearer's head makes a difference.

HEROS H30 protective helmet

The new HEROS H30 helmet has the same technical properties as the HEROS Titan full-shell performance helmet

The new HEROS H30 helmet has the same technical properties as the HEROS Titan full-shell performance helmet, from setting the perfect fit to equipping it with a mask-helmet combination, helmet radio, helmet lamp, and thermal imaging camera.

The hearing ability is even slightly better due to the different lateral lines. In addition, the HEROS H30 is the first type A helmet with a position light integrated into the helmet shell, which increases the visibility of the emergency services, especially in situations without extraneous light. An RFID chip is also integrated into the helmet, which can be used to keep a log book (storage, laundry service, and repair).

High visibility during operation

The new position light makes the carrier of the HEROS H30 helmet visible from the first minute of an operation and not after the incident lighting has been installed. It is simply clipped into the holder provided above the rotary knob and operated with a standard 3A battery.

After switching on, it lights up red to the rear and is switched to steady or flashing light, at the push of a button. Every HEROS H30 protective helmet can also be retrofitted with this light.

Protective design

The elegant integration of the position light into the rear helmet structure shows how protective function and design are combined into a fully developed whole in the HEROS H30 protective helmet.

This also applies to the helmet shell, which is made of high-performance material, whose stiffening beads not only ensure high stability but also give it a very dynamic appearance.

Protection from prolonged heat radiation

The helmet protects against prolonged heat radiation and effectively withstands impacts

The helmet protects against prolonged heat radiation and effectively withstands impacts, and sharp objects, even at a helmet temperature of 300°C. Even with a brief (10 seconds) full flame at 1,000°C, the complete protective function is maintained.

In addition, it insulates against electrical hazards and arcing faults (Gt29) and is resistant to chemicals. A highly efficient, heat-resistant cushioning insert minimizes the impact energy in the event of impacts.

Featuring high-quality visors

Two high-quality visors are available for the HEROS H30, large face protection, and an elegant eye protection visor. Both correspond to EN 14458 standard and are designed in the highest optical class 1, which offers not only appropriate protection but also visual support.

The transparent face protection visor is part of the standard scope of delivery, with the eye protection visor (transparent or tinted) is also optionally available.

Perfect fit for varying head sizes

Every head is different, which is why the HEROS H30 protective helmet offers numerous adjustment options for a perfect fit, for head sizes - 49 to 67 and, if necessary, even larger. The wearing height can be varied without tools and in a few simple steps, the headband can be adapted to the head circumference and the chin strap adjusted. The width adjustment (contact pressure) is carried out using the external rotary knob on the back of the helmet, which has proven itself in HEROS helmets.

The balance on the head can be adjusted by aligning the helmet's center of gravity exactly with the longitudinal axis of the body. And the distance to the visors, which is important for people who wear glasses, can also be selected individually.

Easy to clean and maintain

The interior of the HEROS H30 protective helmet consists of only about ten parts, which are easy to maintain

The ingenious arrangement of the interior fittings of the HEROS H30 under the helmet shell creates so much space that the two visors can be swiveled inwards and hearing protection can even be worn when needed.

The interior of the HEROS H30 protective helmet consists of only about ten parts, which are easy to maintain, quick to change, and easy to clean. The helmet can be washed at 60°C in any commercially available industrial washing machine.

Optimized spare parts management

In addition, many components, such as the headband and the textiles of the interior fittings, the front panel, the lamp holder, and the helmet lamp, as well as the rotary knob for the width adjustment are identical to the HEROS Titan.

The parts can be exchanged 1: 1 and reused, so the spare parts management can be optimized and a pool solution can be implemented, with regard to operational hygiene. With the three-quarter shell helmet - HEROS H30, Rosenbauer sets a new state of the art for type A helmets. It can be ordered now, and the first helmets will be delivered from the end of August 2021.
