Rosenbauer Motors announced at its annual dealer meeting in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, it will now offer Rhino Plate products for its apparatus custom cabs. Rhino Plate offers ballistic and blunt object protection.

Rhino Plate’s ballistic barrier has been certified by the Oregon Ballistic Laboratory to provide protection up to .44 magnum. Expedient to install to allow for quick response in hazardous environments such as civil protests or active shooter situations.

Active shooter situations

First responders are no longer seen as neutral parties in civil protests or potential active shooter situations,” said Rich Schalter, CEO of Rosenbauer Motors. “Scene safety is the number one priority for police, fire, and EMS. First responders cannot take their safety for granted. We choose to offer Rhino Plate to give departments a viable option for protective barriers.”

When installed vehicle windows are still fully functional and allow occupants to fully communicate with people outside of the vehicle. Rosenbauer will have with Rhino Plate protective barrier on-display in April 2019 at the Fire Department Instructor’s Conference (FDIC) International in the Indiana Convention Center, Exhibit Hall J at booth 5200.
