With the RTE AX B16, Rosenbauer is bringing a new, greatly improved battery fan onto the market. The main difference to the previous device (FANERGY B16) is that the new fan is equipped with higher quality and more powerful battery. But the ergonomics of the device have also been improved, as has the operation and design, while the tried and tested all-in-one airflow technology has been retained and the central water mist unit has been retained.

Fan and battery technology combine to form an efficient, multifunctional unit that can do more than just ventilate. This makes the new high-performance fan one of the best overall solutions on the market.

One instead of two batteries

In contrast to the predecessor device with two batteries, one battery is built into the new RTE AX B16. This has more power than the two together, shows the current charge status at the push of a button, and is overall easier to use.

The battery is equipped with a practical handle, which can be used to pull it out of the fan and push it back in again quickly and easily. A key is no longer required to lock and unlock the battery in the device; the bracket is simply folded in or out.

Flexible loading

The new battery fan can be charged with both alternating current (110/220 V - 50/60 Hz) and direct current (24 V). The charging infrastructure required for this is already built into the device and you do not need an additional charger, although one is available separately. The fastest way to charge the RTE AX B16 is to use a power cord, but it can also be connected to the trickle charge in the fire engine (24V MAG code) or, with an optional voltage converter, to the 12 V onboard network. Running times of at least 60 minutes are achieved in pure battery operation, which is sufficient for most fire operations

In principle, the new high-performance fan can be operated both by battery and via the mains. Running times of at least 60 minutes are achieved in pure battery operation, which is sufficient for most fire operations. Should it take longer, the fan can be switched to mains operation without interruption and thus be used permanently, even in boost mode.

With an output of 1.25 kW, the fan generates a continuous volume flow of 5,154 m3 / h in accordance with ISO 5801. The special construction of the fan unit (All-in-One Airflow Technology) ensures optimum suction behavior and a perfect flow pattern.

Improved ergonomics

The compact design and the sturdy aluminum frame with its various grip points ensure that the fan is very ergonomic to use. With a weight of approx. 25 kg, it can be lifted out of the vehicle by one person and carried to the place of use. An optionally available shoulder strap makes transport even easier, and the RTE AX B16 can also be equipped with a set of wheels and a trolley handle and pulled to the place of use.

The dimensions of the new battery-powered fan were chosen so that it takes up less installation space than its predecessor in the vehicle and is even easier to fit in the equipment compartments. There is a separate basket holder for turntable ladders, to which the fan can be attached and safely operated.

Operation is via the new RBC LCS Logic Control System and thus in the same logic as all other Rosenbauer vehicles and devices are controlled. A new feature of the RTE AX B16 is a central power button for a quick start (in less than five seconds), the control panel with speed controller and button for on / off, water mist, and boost mode has remained the same.

More than a fan

The central water mist unit turns the battery-powered high-performance fan into a practical multifunctional device. To do this, it is simply coupled to a fire hose (Storz-C) and a fine spray mist can be applied, for example, to cool rooms or gas bottles or to knock down dangerous smoke gases.

In addition, the fan can be used as a foam generator by stretching the foam net supplied in front of the fan opening and hanging a Z-proportioner in the extinguishing line. The lightweight foam can be brought into a stairwell by duct for firefighting, for example, or into a cellar via a light shaft. The fan also performs valuable services as a high-expansion foam generator when using dangerous goods, when depositing toxic fumes or when cooling equipment.

The RTE AX B16 does not produce any exhaust gases and significantly less noise than a device with a combustion engine. Everything to protect the health of the emergency services and to increase safety in fire operations.

The RTE AX B16 can be ordered immediately. Deliveries will start at the end of July 2021.
