Rosenbauer is launching two new power generators, the RTE PX 14 Basic and the RTE PX 14 Super Silent. Both are further developments of the tried and tested RS 14 series, have the same functionalities and performance characteristics as their predecessors, and are now also largely recyclable.

This was achieved by dispensing with glass-fiber reinforced plastics (GFRP), which were previously used for weight and design reasons, for example for the lining, and could be completely substituted by parts made of aluminum.

Tried and tested technology

The Rosenbauer power generator also proves to be particularly environmentally friendly in operation. In the RTE PX 14 Super Silent version, it is equipped with a sound-optimized stainless steel exhaust system and a sound-absorbing housing, which reduce noise by around five decibels compared to the Basic version.

This makes the RTE PX 14 Super Silent the quietest power generator in its class

This makes the RTE PX 14 Super Silent the quietest power generator in its class, reducing the noise pollution of firefighters and residents at the scene to a tolerable level and better protecting the health of the emergency crews in the long run. The ECO mode also helps to reduce the workload of people at the scene of an emergency: If no consumers are switched on at the RTE PX 14, the engine speed is automatically reduced and the unit runs audibly quieter.

Quietest power generator

Only when consumers are switched on does the engine automatically increase to the nominal speed again and full power is available. Rosenbauer uses a 2-cylinder 4-stroke engine with injection technology as the drive unit, which means that it can always be optimally controlled and allows efficient operation with low fuel consumption (6 l per hour at full load). A powerful synchronous generator including generator governor ensures the high starting currents required for the (simultaneous) operation of difficult to start firefighting equipment, such as submersible pumps.

Furthermore, Rosenbauer power generators are very user-friendly and can be operated intuitively and safely across their full range of functions. All information required during operation, such as the total load, the load distribution, or the fuel level, is clearly shown on a display (main view). Details such as voltage, current, active power, and cosine phi - broken down by phase, for which separate measuring devices are usually required - can be accessed via an expert view.

Safety fuel cap

The mobile RTE PX 14 generators can be used with a connection cable for building feed

Fueling and refueling of the power generator during operation is easily carried out via an optimized refueling corner with safety fuel cap, LED illumination of the tank filling area, and optical/acoustic warnings. The fuel from the external refueling set is delivered by a dedicated pump, resulting in up to 30% longer operation without any intervention.

The RTE PX 14 power generator fulfills all DIN 14658-1 requirements and is therefore perfectly suited for firefighting operations. In order to be able to supply the various consumers at the operational scene with power, the following connections are available on the RTE PX 14 with an output power of 13.6 kVA: two 400 V sockets, three 230 V sockets, four 16 A AC circuit breakers with neutral conductor and monitoring (1 x 3-phase, 3 x 1-phase), a 12 V constant voltage source as well as a 7-pin FIRE-CAN interface. In addition, the mobile RTE PX 14 generators can be used with a connection cable for building feed for emergency power supply.

Sustainable firefighting products

Rosenbauer develops and produces the RTE PX 14 power generator in-house, using only high-quality and, above all, resistant materials, because the devices are subjected to extreme stresses during use.

All components are designed for maximum load and must function reliably, especially at very high ambient temperatures. Sustainability in the sense of a long service life with absolutely safe functionality is one of the principles of Rosenbauer product development. Environmental aspects are taken into account at a very early stage of development, and attention is paid to the efficient use of resources and the greatest possible avoidance of waste during design. The new Rosenbauer RTE PX 14 power generator can be ordered in the Rosenbauer Onlineshop from July and will be delivered in autumn 2023.
