Rosenbauer receives award in the ‘Cooperation and Organization’ category with the eAward 2023. What for? The new RDS Connected Command app has been available in app stores since July 4, 2023. But the app for emergency response organizations has been around for much longer.
For more than 150 years now, Rosenbauer has been tackling the question of how to make the everyday life of emergency response organizations simpler, more efficient, and safer. If the problem requires it, digital solutions are also developed to meet the challenges of the emergency response organizations. User-friendliness and a focus on the fundamentals must always have top priority.
RDS Connected Command app
The development of a new, modern operational management system started about two years ago with the RDS Connected Command app. This was to replace its forerunner, called ‘EMEREC mobile’.

On the one hand, a number of requirements for alerting and emergency communication software have changed, and on the other hand, the new app has also been put on a more modern technological footing.
In addition, some new functionalities have been developed and implemented, which the previous version did not offer. In this way, training and skills can now be assigned to the individual members of the organization so that, in the event of an emergency, it is possible to see at a glance whether the particular operation can be handled by the assigned personnel.
Developments, modifications, and new features
In addition, they also thought about how to make it as easy as possible for emergency response organizations to try out the app at no cost. In the free basic version, organizations can already be created and nearly all functionalities can be tried out. This makes it as straightforward as possible to get started with or switch to the world of modern operational management.
Further developments, modifications, and new features are currently released approximately every six weeks through updates. This ensures that user feedback can be quickly taken into account and incorporated into the newer versions.
Since last October (V 1.5.0), it has been recommended that existing customers switch from the previous app to the new version, as EMEREC Mobile can no longer be serviced for technical reasons from the beginning of 2024.
RDS Connected Command app impresses the jury
The new RDS Connected Command app has already impressed the eAward jury, as it “Underlines Rosenbauer’s long-standing innovative strength and promotes the flow of information and rapid decision-making in crisis situations,” said a Jury Member at the award ceremony.
From now on, the wide range of functionalities should not only impress at events, but also help in emergencies – specifically the people who are dedicated to helping them.
