Following the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Lower Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Brandenburg have also opted for vehicles from the ‘Efficient Technology’ model series of Rosenbauer.

Rosenbauer is very successful in Germany with its ET series these days. Currently, the group firefighting vehicles for disaster relief (LF 20 KatS) are being delivered, which the Federal Ministry of the Interior ordered at the end of 2021, on behalf of the Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance.

Rosenbauer ET series vehicles

Rosenbauer ET series vehicles are built on all-wheel drive chassis from Mercedes-Benz

Rosenbauer ET series vehicles are built on all-wheel drive chassis from Mercedes-Benz, they have a Rosenbauer twin cabin (ProCab) with space for a firefighting crew, as well as 1,000 liters of water, an FPN 10-2000 firefighting pump (Rosenbauer N25), and rapid intervention equipment, while also being capable of discharging the extinguishing agent while driving (pump & roll operation).

A special feature is the access steps into the crew cab, which fold down mechanically when the doors are opened.

Vehicles part of ‘supplementary disaster protection’ in Germany

The vehicles are part of the ‘supplementary disaster protection’ in Germany, as part of which the fire departments have been equipped with new fire fighting vehicles since 2007.

They are intended for use in extreme weather events, forest fires, and major emergencies, but their all-rounder qualities also make them perfect for municipal firefighting operations.

Brand new: TLF with twin cabin

Numerous other orders in recent weeks confirm how well the ET series suits German fire departments

Numerous other orders in recent weeks confirm how well the ET series suits German fire departments: For example, Rosenbauer was awarded the contract for the delivery of a total of 30 vehicles, 18 TLF 4000, and twelve TLF 3000 in ET design, in two state tenders in Saxony-Anhalt.

They are built on MAN TGM chassis with original twin cabins, equipped with new steps, and are the first of their kind in Germany.

Vehicles feature FPN 10-3000 firefighting pump

All vehicles have an FPN 10-3000 firefighting pump (Rosenbauer N35) on board and a water turret on the superstructure roof, the TLF 4000 is additionally equipped with a pressure proportioning system (RFC Admix Variomatic).

Rosenbauer was also successful with the ET in central procurements in Lower Saxony and Brandenburg, in Germany. The state of Lower Saxony ordered 21 LF 20 KatS, and 17 HLF 10 and 15 LF 10 are being produced for the fire departments in Brandenburg. In both cases, there is the option of extending the orders to up to 60 units.

Vehicles featuring new, powerful scene lighting system

For the first time, the vehicles for Lower Saxony will be equipped with a new, powerful scene lighting system that will be installed in all LF 20 KatS in the future: LED strips in the roof gallery run along the entire length of the superstructure on both sides.

One of the decisive factors in winning the contract was the rapid delivery time that Rosenbauer was able to promise for its standard vehicles.

The Rosenbauer ET

Most of the standard vehicles of the German fire departments can be realized with ET series vehicles

Most of the standard vehicles of the German fire departments can be realized with ET series vehicles. They are mounted on all common chassis and equipped either with a Rosenbauer crew cab or with a twin cabin from the chassis supplier.

Extinguishing agent tanks with a capacity of up to 5,500 liters and firefighting pumps with capacities of up to 4,500 l/min can be installed, also in combination with around-the-pump foam and direct injection proportioning systems.

Featuring advanced extinguishing technology

The extinguishing technology can be controlled either electrically via switches or electronically via displays. As far as fixtures are concerned, the entire range of Rosenbauer’s COMFORT holder program can be used; with regard to attachments, the six equipment compartments can be extended by up to four full height lockers, if required.

This means that the ET's range of functions, from technical equipment to extinguishing performance and operation, can be precisely adapted to the needs of the fire departments.
