Monday 13th September marked the beginning of a new chapter for the latest recruits. It was a pleasure to welcome them to The Towers Hotel in Swansea, to see them embark on their new and exciting journey towards becoming Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Firefighters.
Thirty recruits face an intensive 14-week course across 3 different locations, this course will be delivered by the Training Delivery Team, who will offer guidance and support every step of the way.
Training program
Geraint Thomas, Head of Training Delivery said of the course; “It’s always an honor to be a part of this journey, where recruits start their careers with Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service. I’m passionate about providing them with the best training possible throughout this 14-week acquisition phase."

14 weeks training
Chris Rees, Deputy Head of Training Delivery added; “These 30 individuals are at the beginning of an incredible journey to becoming Firefighters and role models to the communities they serve. Over the next 14 weeks, they will be put through their paces to prepare them for what they might face once they begin attending real-life emergencies."
