Monday 13th September marked the beginning of a new chapter for the latest recruits. It was a pleasure to welcome them to The Towers Hotel in Swansea, to see them embark on their new and exciting journey towards becoming Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Firefighters.

Thirty recruits face an intensive 14-week course across 3 different locations, this course will be delivered by the Training Delivery Team, who will offer guidance and support every step of the way.

Geraint Thomas, Head of Training Delivery said of the course; It’s always an honor to be a part of this journey, where recruits start their careers with Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service. "The program will encompass all aspects of the continually broadening role of the modern firefighter. During the course timetable, the training delivery team will be supported by subject matter experts from several other departments to ensure that we provide an excellent footing for the recruits as they complete their apprenticeships! Chris Rees, Deputy Head of Training Delivery added; “These 30 individuals are at the beginning of an incredible journey to becoming Firefighters and role models to the communities they serve.
