Rave Mobile Safety (Rave), the globally renowned provider of critical communication and data platform solutions trusted to save lives, is continuing its successful partnership with communities in the US state of Arkansas, to support and improve response during emergencies.

Statewide safety initiatives

From record Smart911 interactions statewide to the life-saving role that Rave Panic Button has played in schools, Arkansas public safety is utilizing a number of technologies to assist with its safety initiatives.

Supplying our first responders with the most effective information during emergencies is essential and Smart911 is arming first responders with additional insights, making the most of this information,” said Jeff Presley, E911 Director of the City of Jonesboro.

Jeff Presley adds, “We are pleased to see the citizens of Arkansas embracing this technology and understanding the benefit of this information not only to their own safety, but that of our first responders as well.

JP French, Director of Strategic Accounts for Rave Mobile Safety, echoed Jeff Presley's sentiments. He stated, “It is our top priority to protect the citizens of Arkansas and ensure first responders have access to essential information in emergency situations.

JP French adds, “With a push of a button in our schools or a call to 9-1-1 dispatchers from a citizen, Rave and its life-saving technology is proud to support Arkansas' statewide safety initiatives.

Notable Arkansas milestones for Rave in the first three months of 2019 include:

  • Increased insight for local dispatchers - A record number of over 200,000 incidents impacted thanks to local 9-1-1 dispatchers leveraging Smart911, during the first three months of the year. The Smart911 product allows community members to set up a profile that includes individualized information, such as phone number, address, a photo, family members and medical conditions, leading to faster and better decisions by first responders.
  • Ongoing value in chat sessions - More than 3,300 chat sessions were initiated by Arkansas emergency personnel via Smart911's chat component, which allows call takers to initiate two-way text conversations with any mobile user. This technology is especially effective when there are issues with call connectivity or non-verbal users, as well as situations when victims aren't able to freely talk to first responders.
  • Supporting safety with facility profiles - Over 2,800 displays of facility data occurred using Rave Facility, which provides accurate site details for 9-1-1 calls originating from any facility that creates a profile with information, including floor plans, key personnel, utility shut off locations, hazardous material and AED locations. The technology also supports school safety offerings and use of Rave Panic Button technology across all of the 1,046 public K-12 schools statewide, including all 264 districts and charter schools.
  • Delivery of lifesaving technology in schools - Earlier this year, the Prairie Grove School District honored Arkansas special education teacher, Brandy Carte with a SmartSave Award for her role in helping a student during a medical emergency on school grounds. Carte acted quickly when the student had a severe seizure, during which her breathing and heart stopped, by engaging the Rave Panic Button, which expedited the emergency response process.

Benefits of Rave Panic Button

When activated, Rave Panic Button communicates an emergency to 9-1-1, on-site personnel and first responders in seconds. The application shortens response times, reduces confusion and improves safety for all those in the immediate area.

Having access to key safety features like the Rave Panic Button and Smart911 gives my school peace of mind every day,” said Lloyd D. Jackson, Deputy Superintendent of the Hot Springs School District, adding “Our community feels like there is an additional layer of security in our most vulnerable times and we are happy that have this technology in our backyard.
