Rave Mobile Safety (Rave), a trusted partner for safety software protecting millions of individuals, has launched a mobile application for its Smart911 technology, which provides greater access to the life-saving benefits of Smart911, plus targeted location-based alerts to all registrants.

In time for September’s National Preparedness Month, users will now be able to download the Smart911 app to share and receive information that may be needed in an emergency.

Smart911 mobile app

Smart911 mobile app is the only way registrants can create a Safety Profile that displays when they call 9-1-1. Users can provide key information about members in a household, such as medical conditions, disabilities or special medical needs, communication preferences and car and property details, as part of their Safety Profiles.

Equipping emergency dispatchers and first responders with this information can help them make faster and better decisions, shorten response times and save lives.

Sending targeted alerts based on user location

The app provides enhanced functionality by sending targeted alerts based on the user’s location

In addition, the app provides enhanced functionality by sending targeted alerts based on the user’s location. Smart911 app users will receive the highest priority National Weather Service alerts, including tornado warnings, flash flood warnings, and severe thunderstorm warnings based on their real-time location.

We hope the new Smart911 app will make it more convenient for people to sign up and uplift communities and improve emergency response across the country,” said Ron and Jill Plush, Founders of the Kyle Plush Answer the Call Foundation.

Providing first responders with key information

They add, “We encourage families to download the Smart911 app to help provide first responders with life-saving information in the event of a 9-1-1 call for help.

Additional benefits of the Smart911 app are:

  • Monitor emergency alerts nationwide: App users can receive targeted alerts from participating municipalities and the National Weather Service based on their real-time location
  • Easy registration process: Individuals can download the app from anywhere and easily sign up and provide key information to 9-1-1 call takers in supported Smart911 locations.
  • Manage Safety Profiles from mobile app: Residents can access previously-created Safety Profiles from the app and add or update information at any time.
  • Text to download app feature: Users can text ‘Smart911’ to 67283 to receive a link that will direct them to their smartphone’s App Store to download the Smart911 app. The app also allows registrants to invite family and friends to download and sign up via text message.

Location-based safety alerts

“The Smart911 mobile app allows us to provide safety services to every individual without limitations,” said Todd Piett, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Rave Mobile Safety, adding “There has been an ever-growing demand for location-based alerts and our Smart911 mobile app is able to deliver that at no charge. By simply downloading the app and registering a Safety Profile, people can receive emergency notifications wherever they go across the country.
