The new Oshkosh fire apparatus

The new Oshkosh fire apparatus aimed at international markets is engineered and constructed to exacting standards by Oshkosh subsidiary, Pierce Manufacturing (North America’s leading designer of custom fire and emergency vehicles). More details will follow at the show with an Oshkosh fire apparatus on display at the Oshkosh Corporation booth.

Detailed drawings, design engineering and ARFF experts will be on hand to introduce the much-anticipated new Oshkosh Striker 8 X 8 configuration. Among the most powerful firefighting trucks on the planet, the Striker 8 X 8 will offer a range of twin-engine power plant options for unmatched vehicle performance and firefighting capabilities. The cab will set the new industry standard for ergonomics, visibility, comfort and safety features on an 8 X 8 ARFF vehicle.

The new Oshkosh Striker Simulator virtual reality training system

The new Oshkosh Striker Simulator virtual reality training system, one of the industry’s most sophisticated, will be set up for hands-on demonstrations. Already on duty at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport, the Striker Simulator system is engineered to depict a nearly endless array of training scenarios for aircraft rescue and firefighting organisations. The Striker Simulator system enables more realistic, more varied, and more intensive training opportunities. The system delivers a giant leap forward in realism, with actual Striker vehicle cockpit components and controls along with a series of widescreen video monitors. The system features a Scenario Toolbox that enables incident commanders to easily develop highly realistic and varied emergency situations from an easy-to-use drop-down menu.
