The Oshkosh Striker 6 x 6 delivers innovative fire suppression technology and unmatched chassis performance

Oshkosh Airport Products Group, a division of Oshkosh Corporation delivered nine Oshkosh® Striker® 6 x 6 aircraft rescue and fire fighting (ARFF) vehicles to Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC).

The Striker vehicles all feature a 6 x 6 axle configuration and one is outfitted with the Oshkosh SNOZZLE® high reach extendable turret (HRET).

“Abu Dhabi Airports Company is among the world’s finest airport operators, and we’re proud they continue to choose Oshkosh and the Striker to meet their aircraft rescue and firefighting requirements,” said Jeff Resch, Oshkosh Airport Products Group vice president and general manager. “It is noteworthy that the Striker is the preferred ARFF vehicle at ADAC’s flagship airport, Abu Dhabi International, one of the finest business airports in the world.”

The Striker 6 x6 offers advanced safety systems and delivers innovative fire suppression technology, unmatched chassis performance, and unsurpassed reliability and durability. The all- wheel drive axle configuration, with Oshkosh TAK-4® all-wheel independent suspension, offers a smooth ride and excellent off-road capabilities. One of the Abu Dhabi Striker vehicles features a 19.8-meter (65-foot) SNOZZLEHRET for faster and more effective fire response.

The SNOZZLE HRET is able to operate as an elevated water tower through a doorway or over a wing exit without endangering firefighters. The product’s patented ability to shoot a full master stream at ground level allows for quick and effective cooling of burning aircraft tires and hot brakes. Available in either 15.2 or 19.8-meter (50 or 65-foot) boom lengths – and single or dual nozzle configurations – the SNOZZLE offers a tip mounted forward looking infrared (FLIR) camera that allows the operator to quickly locate and pinpoint the heat source.

Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) is the owner and operator of Abu Dhabi International Airport. In 2012, ADAC received the Frontier Award for Best Airport Operator of the Year. Abu Dhabi International Airport (ADIA) is the capital’s main airport and the flagship of ADAC’s five airports. ADIAis the 2011 Business Destinations Travel Awards “Best Airport in the Middle East” award recipient.
