The Orlando Fire Department is taking steps to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and to protect the public and themselves.

The department’s Health and Safety Division is working closely with the Florida Department of Health to ensure that first responders are equipped to treat patients suffering from flu-like symptoms or respiratory illnesses.

Orlando Fire Chief Benjamin Barksdale will join crew members from the Orlando Fire Department to demonstrate how medics and fire crews are suiting up to respond to calls with patients presenting potential coronavirus symptoms and discuss how the process starts from the moment a call comes in to the call center.
