OpenView Security Solutions (OSS), the leading provider of security, IT infrastructure and electrical solutions to the public sector, is expanding its manufacturing facilities as a result of experiencing a significant upturn in orders for bespoke fire and security doors. Used extensively in tower blocks and other shared housing environments, the doors are being fitted as part of extensive refurbishment programmes currently being undertaken by housing providers across the UK to deliver a higher level of protection for residents.

According to Martin Gooch, General Manager of OpenView’s timber services department: “We are seeing exceptional demand for our premium quality security and fire doors which are cost effective, easy to install and comply with all regulatory requirements. The ability to manufacture these products in-house allows us to ensure that they are fit for purpose and meet the specific requirements of local authorities and social housing providers.”

Fully tested fire doors

OSS provides a complete design, manufacturing and installation service for bespoke timber doors, communal portcullis door sets and screens. They feature unique designs with specialist glazing and integrated audio and video door entry systems ranging in size from individual units to the most sophisticated, complex multi-site networked systems covering thousands of dwellings across wide geographical areas. In fact, the company was the first to install and maintain a city-wide smart city IP concierge solution which remains the largest of its kind in the UK.

Every security and fire door is manufactured to comply with relevant regulatory requirements including sustainability and DDA standards. The FD30 and FD60 fire doors are all fully tested to BS EN 1634-1:2014 standards.
