Children are never too young to learn fire safety basics, this is the important message North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue wants to communicate this Christmas time. Inspired by the popular ‘elf on the shelf’ tradition which many families participate in, ‘Blame the Flame’ inspires to bring a comical, yet important message to young children across the county.

With the help of parents, carers, teachers, and anyone else who has contact with children aged between 3 years old and 7 years old North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue hope the messages will help start important conversations across North Yorkshire around preventing accidents in the home.

Interactive communication

Advice has been sought from those working with young children around the language used to communicate to a younger audience, with some posts having an interactive element.

Anyone able to spread the message about this campaign or better still, join in is encouraged to do so; North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue would love for users to be involved.
