While in Northern Ireland taking part in another successful FIM Expo, Robin Edmunds and Steve McCarley took the opportunity to visit the South Eastern Regional College’s (SERC) and meet with Adam Smylie who won the Nittan sponsored – Fire Engineering Apprentice of the Year 2020.

Unfortunately, attendance at the official presentation was restricted last year due to COVID, so it was really great for Robin and Steve to meet with Adam at last, and add their own personal congratulations.

The Nittan sponsored Apprentice of the year scheme is something Nittan takes great pride in. Nittan not only sponsors the prizes and trophies but also provides equipment to enable the apprentices to gain real hands-on experience during the course.

Robin Hamill, Fire & Security Lecturer at SERC said the course is proving so popular that the college has recently taken delivery of more Nittan equipment as the facilities have been expanded to include additional training bays.
