Roco Rescue and Capital Safety, home of the DBI/SALA and Protecta brands of fall protection equipment, have formed a training alliance which will allow Roco to teach Capital Safety Fall Protection courses beginning this fall.

These co-branded Capital Safety/Roco Fall Protection classes will be offered at the Roco Training Center (RTC) in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, beginning in September of 2008. Roco and Capital Safety will offer a series of Competent Person, Authorized Person and Competent Inspector classes.

Capital Safety (DBI/SALA/Protecta) is the world's largest manufacturer of fall protection equipment and has provided fall protection training for a number of years. With RTC becoming an authorized Capital Safety Training Center, it allows Roco to enter the fall protection market with a respected and well-positioned partner in the field. The agreement also allows Roco to offer these classes in a private, on-site format and to continue selling the full line of DBI/SALA/Protecta equipment and systems.

"Roco is very excited about this affiliation with a global company, and we look forward to providing our clients with this new training opportunity," according to John Voinche, Roco's VP and Chief Operating Officer.

There is currently a high demand for fall protection training due in part to the recently revised ANSI Standard, Z359.2, which defines job requirements for different positions (i.e., Competent Person vs. Competent Inspector) and mandates that employers develop a written fall protection program whenever workers are exposed to fall protection hazards. For more information on the revised ANSI standard, go to the Roco Rescue website's 'Info Center' and click on 'How to Create an ANSI Z359.2 Compliant Fall-Protection Plan.'

Clients can register for these Fall Protection classes at the Capital Safety website or the Roco Rescue website.
