NVFC's jnior firefighter program will initiate an all round growth of young fire service professionals
The firefighter program will cover topics like youth leadership, the future in fire service and youth activities

National Junior Firefighter Academy courses are limited to 75 junior firefighters and 50 program advisors.

The National Volunteer Fire Council’s (NVFC) National Junior Firefighter Program has partnered with Firehouse Expo, Spartan Motors, Inc., and California Casualty to provide two courses targeted for junior firefighters and junior firefighter program advisors this summer. The courses will run concurrently from 9am-12pm on Saturday, July 24, at Firehouse Expo in Baltimore, MD. Lunch will follow courtesy of MSA.

The session for junior firefighters, open to youth ages between  13-18, will cover topics such as youth leadership, future paths in the fire service, and youth-led activity ideas. Junior firefighter program advisors will hear about serving as a youth mentor, applying for SAFER grants for junior firefighter programs, and activity ideas, among other subjects.
