Around 4,000 visitors are expected to attend the VdS-FireSafety Cologne 2023 on 6 and 7 December 2023. Thanks to its growing success, the international trade fair will be held for the first time in the larger Hall 10.1 at Koelnmesse, which offers more space for stands and live demonstrations.
Around 140 exhibitors will present their latest fire protection solutions there, while a varied specialist program will be offered in parallel on the trade fair stage. In addition, seven VdS-expert conferences can be booked separately, which will take place in the adjoining halls. In this way, a visit to the conferences and the trade fair can be perfectly combined. The VdS-FireSafety Cologne is opened by the Mayor of Cologne, Dr. Ralf Heinen.
Live demonstrations
The companies Jutec and Schwender will place cars at two locations in the exhibition hall
The numerous live demonstrations of fire protection technology include a demonstration of a high-pressure sprinkler system by Danfoss. In addition, the companies Jutec and Schwender will place cars at two locations in the exhibition hall where interested parties can try out the application of fire protection covers for themselves.
The VdS laboratory will have its own stand and will be demonstrating a mobile function oven in which the function and K-factor of sprinklers from old systems can be tested. A demonstration lasts between three and five minutes.
Special promotion of young talents
One focus of the VdS-FireSafety Cologne 2023 will be the recruitment of young professionals-an enormously important topic in times of a shortage of skilled workers! Students and school pupils will be offered opportunities to get to know the various areas and professions in fire protection. Ideally, this will generate interest in a career in this sector at an early stage.
On each of the two days of the fair, one of the guided tours is aimed specifically at school pupils
Various measures are planned for this purpose. Among other things, there will be a special area on the exhibition floor for moderated exchange between students, career changers and companies. The guided tours, which all trade fair visitors can register free of charge, are being designed this year by students from Furtwangen University under the direction of Professor Marion Meinert. On each of the two days of the fair, one of the guided tours is aimed specifically at school pupils.
Professional program on the fair stage
The stage in the exhibition hall offers three specialist forums: the "Future Forum Fire Protection" with presentations on important trends, including lithium-ion batteries, the exhibitor forum on innovative solutions and the VdS-FireSafetyTalk. Here, experts will discuss topics that move the fire protection industry in 90-minute talks.
VdS-expert conferences
The traditional expert conference "Fire Extinguishing Systems" will take place over two days
As every second year, the traditional expert conference "Fire Extinguishing Systems" will take place over two days, with international topics and simultaneous German/English translation.
The topics include: "VdS CEA 4001: 2024-01 (08)-News from the Sprinkler Guideline," "Trends and Challenges in Distribution Warehouses-Are Sprinklers Alone Still Sufficient?," and "Minimizing Risks on the Roof-Extinguishing Systems for Industrial Roofs with Photovoltaic Systems" and many more. Get-together and evening event in the Kristallsaal are included.
