The Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB) Red Book Pavilion, the new feature at International Firex 2009 which will promote the importance of third party approved products and services in the fire protection sector, has announced a comprehensive educational seminar programme.

The seminars will be hosted by industry experts from the LPCB and dedicated staff will be on hand to answer any queries.

The informative sessions will look at key issues relating to fire safety including:

  • Benefits of certification and the approval process
  • The Fire Safety Order - a practical approach
  • Fire safety design of buildings
  • Fixed gaseous extinguishing systems
  • Examining the different levels of security products: what is appropriate where?
  • Passive fire - is it just a case of filling the gaps?
  • Wireless and voice alarm fire detection

The first ever Red Book Live Pavilion will provide exhibitors and visitors with advice, guidance and expertise regarding the need for third party product certification and the necessity for products to meet appropriate standards.

The Red Book is a world renowned listing of all LCPB-approved fire, security, construction, and environmental products and services, used by specifiers, designers, insurers, constructors, installers, manufacturers, regulators and anyone who needs to better manage their risks.

Taking place from 11-14 May 2009 at the NEC Birmingham, International Firex is Europe's leading event for the fire prevention and protection industry and constitutes the largest gathering of fire professionals.

Gerry Dunphy, event manager of International Firex stated: "The new LPCB Red Book Live Pavilion is set to be a hugely successful and popular feature. We believe it will enhance the show's importance to the fire safety industry and as such, many manufacturers listed in the The Red Book are participating in the show.''

Carol Atkinson, Chief Executive of LPCB commented: "The LPCB Red Book Live Pavilion is a fantastic opportunity to not only promote the importance of high quality approved products and services in the fire protection sector, but also inform visitors about the intricacies of fire safety. We are proud to be working with International Firex as it is one of the world's leading industry events."
