Catherine Levin will work to ensure the London Fire Brigade delivers on its fire prevention aims
Catherine Levin brings a wealth of
fire-policy experience to the London Fire Brigade

London Fire Brigade has appointed a new Deputy Head of Community Fire Safety. Catherine Levin joined the Brigade in March and reports directly to the Brigade's head of Community Fire Safety, Assistant Commissioner, Andy Hickmott.

Prior to joining the brigade, Catherine worked as a civil servant for ten years and has five years experience working in fire policy at the Department of Communities and Local Government. Catherine said: "I'll be helping to shape the brigade's approach to community safety. I'll be developing our future policies to ensure community safety remains a top priority for our staff and the public alike." Catherine went on to say: "There's a lot of excellent community fire safety work going on across London, including the work of our Arson Taskforce, Juvenile Firesetters Intervention Scheme, Schools Team and not to mention the hundreds of home fire safety visits carried out by our firefighters each year."

"One of my key priorities is to make sure the brigade continues to deliver its fire prevention aims, closely followed by promoting what we're doing to the outside world to maintain the reputation the brigade rightly holds."

Andy Hickmott, Community Fire Safety, Assistant Commissioner, said: "Catherine is a real asset to the brigade. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience. Her role will be vital in driving forward our important community safety work to ensure as many Londoners are as safe from fire as possible."
