Lake Assault Boats LLC, part of Fraser Industries LLC and a leading manufacturer of patrol, fire, and rescue craft, is displaying a Force Protection-Medium (FP-M) patrol craft at the International WorkBoat Show (booth 3877) on December 1-3 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The vessel is designed to help secure U.S. Navy ships and personnel – whether inside or outside of U.S. Navy ports – against waterborne threats.
Walk-around tour of the vessel
“We’re very excited to display at the International WorkBoat Show, and will be offering walk-around tours of this important vessel to the commercial marine industry,” said Chad DuMars, Lake Assault Boats Vice President of Operations.
“These patrol craft serve a vitally important role for our nation’s security, and we are extremely proud to provide them to the United States Navy.”
About the vessel
The vessel on display is among the first of up to 119 purchased by the U.S. Navy. The five-year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract carries a maximum value of $56 million, and further deliveries will be made in 2022 and beyond.
The 33-foot long craft features an aluminum V-hull design (protected by a polyurethane foam collar wrap), a 10-foot beam, a full cuddy cabin, shock mitigating seats, and twin 225-hp outboard motors. The boats are outfitted with four weapon mounts designed to accommodate machine guns of up to .50 caliber.
