Units will be built on KME custom chassis

KME Fire Apparatus is pleased to announce that it has been awarded an order by the Defense Supply Center Philadelphia for eight custom heavy rescue trucks for the United States Air Force.

The units will be built on a KME custom chassis with an aluminum heavy rescue walk-around body. The unit includes roof compartments with body access ladder, awning, 25 kw generator, and light tower.

KME was selected as the best overall value in competition with other manufacturers. Deliveries to airbases across the nation will be made in the spring of 2010. KME is also in production of 22 medium duty rescues for the air force.

KME's rescue line includes a full range of special service units for all functions including command, dive support, hazmat, extrication, communications, air/light, RIT, and fire suppression.
