KME Fire Apparatus, a subsidiary of REV Group® and a leading manufacturer of fire apparatus, will display a diverse group of apparatus at FDIC International (Fire Department Instructors Conference) in Indianapolis, Indiana from August 5 – 7, 2021. KME’s booth, number 3901 in the Indiana Convention Center, will have seven unique vehicles to meet multiple fire service needs.
Expected to garner substantial interest is the new Tractor-Drawn AerialCat™ with Steel-Safe™ technology being delivered to San Bernardino County (CA) Fire Department. This 101-foot TDA features an updated FlexForm™ Dropframe TDA Body design with a large compartment capacity including a redesigned transverse storage area and lower ground ladder storage. The new body design also allows for lower TDA or Tiller cab travel heights without sacrificing ground ladder storage. Built to the custom requirements of the fire department, the unit includes a 2,000 GPM, single-stage pump, and 300-gallon water tank.
Other AerialCat™ with Steel-Safe™ technology units on display include a 103-foot Tuff Truck™ from Blue Ridge Hook & Ladder Company in Stroudsburg, PA. Built on a KME Severe Service™ chassis, this rig features CAFS with 1500 GPM, single-stage pump, and KME’s EZ-MRS™ to help facilitate maintenance and keep the Steel-Safe ladder in optimal condition. Linglestown Fire Company #1, PA will have their KME 102-foot Mid-Mount Platform on display featuring KME’s state-of-the-art motion control system with a 10-inch display at the control console.
Pumpers on display include a Custom Pumper from Swannanoa Fire Rescue, NC, with premium features such as KME’s digital dash display, a 1750 GPM single-stage pump, and 1000-gallon water tank. One of Howard County (MD) Fire & Rescue’s new custom pumpers will be shown, with enhanced firefighter health features including easy decontamination options such as vinyl non-SCBA seats, which are easier to clean, as well as the Active Air Purification System.

Additionally, KME’s new X-Series™ Custom Pumper will also be on display. Designed to help fire departments navigate the challenges associated with specifying and procuring fire apparatus, the X-Series offers multiple core models that can be customized with thousands of options to meet departments’ unique requirements.
Finally, KME will display a Custom Heavy Rescue from Muncie, Indiana. The truck features a four (4) compartment walk-though body, with a breathing air cascade system and Appleton Fill Station.
