The new KAC online guide helps fire system designers and system integrators meet new obligations under EN54-23 |
KAC Alarm Company has created an intuitive online guide to VAD coverage, a powerful support tool for its new ENscape range launched earlier this year in response to the new EN54-23 standard for VADs. ENscape is receiving very positive feedback for its ease of installation, powerful performance and versatility, with a significant increase in sales over the last quarter.
The new online beacon guide, accessed via www.kac.co.uk is extremely simple and quick to use. It enables specifiers, fire system designers and system integrators to determine the best device based on the room dimensions and ambient light conditions, helping them to meet their new obligations under EN54-23.
Raxa Chauhan, KAC Product Manager, commented, “ENscape products are universal and omni-directional, so the same device can be installed on both ceilings and walls to reduce complexity and stock holding. Using the guide is an extremely simple process. All you need to do is input the dimensions of your space, along with the current ambient lighting conditions and the guide will provide a suggested number of devices for the space. Because of ENscape’s universal mounting options, it offers wall and ceiling mount solutions with beacon or sounder beacon, allowing you to choose the best solution for your specific installation. The results indicate an approximate number of devices to achieve EN54-23 coverage and also the mounting height at which the device is certified for that coverage.
“There is a lot of discussion around EN54-23 and its impact. We designed the guide to make it as easy as possible for systems designers and installers to select the VADs that will best suit their individual requirements.”
The guide provides links to the ENscape installation manual and order code listings to help facilitate device selection. To assist specifiers and designers in VAD selection for non-standard rooms, KAC has also created a downloadable guide that gives the details of the coverage achieved by ENscape devices when installed at heights differing from those specified by EN54-23.
