The Indian Urban Sector is on the threshold of transformational change with the Government of India’s commitment to improve the quality of urban life and provide clean and sustainable environment by efficiently utilising available assets, resources and infrastructure.

In order to achieve these objectives, the Indian government has already launched several ambitious programs, such as the 100 Smart Cities Program, the Modified Renewable Energy Plan, the National Smart Grid Mission and the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) for 500 cities, among others. The 100 Smart Cities Program and AMRUT alone have been initially allocated with outlays of INR 48,000 crore (approx. £5 billion) and INR 0,000 crore (approx. £5.2 billion), respectively. All these programs will offer immense opportunities to international investors and technology companies.
