IRN, the global summits organiser will launch the inaugural East Africa Energy Infrastructure Security 2015 forum
The forum will address counter-terrorism, local conflicts and violence, among other issues

Although in the last half-decade a number of East African countries have emerged as global energy frontiers, and consequently the region is increasingly attractive to major IOCs, there are a number of specific security challenges which may hamper East Africa booming oil and gas industry.

The East Africa Energy Infrastructure Security 2015 Forum, taking place on the 4th and 5th February 2015 in the capital of Kenya, Nairobi, will address a range of issues including counter-terrorism, local conflicts and violence, employee relations, pipeline and infrastructure protection, relations with the local community, maritime security and utilising local content policies within the energy industry with the main focus on oil and gas sector in the wider East African region.

The Forum will be a senior level platform in discrete 5 setting and delegates will have a chance to hear presentations and case studies from a number of security experts from leading construction and oil and gas companies active in the region.

As a company, IRN has an established reputation in the oil and gas industry for organising oil and gas, as well as security focused forums. Amongst the company’s most recent events, the West Africa Oil & Gas Security Summit took place in June 2014 in Lagos. This well-received meeting was attended by senior level representatives from ExxonMobil, Shell International BV, G4S, Subsea7, Total E&P, Hunt Oil Company, Nepal Oil and Gas Services, Nigerian Army Corps of Artillery, GE Global Sub Sahara Africa, West African Gas Pipeline Company, Control Risk, Six Maritime and many others.
