E-ONE, a subsidiary of REV Group and a manufacturer of fire apparatus, introduces a new Typhoon cab for 2019 at booth # 4100 during FDIC International, April 11-13, 2019 in Indianapolis, Indiana. The new Typhoon cab features greater visibility for the driver and crew with its new windshield design, reduced profile dash and full size/full opening door windows.

The cab doors have new vertical pull exterior and interior door handles and the cab steps feature an extended lower step and a full-width intermediate step. Inside the cab is an all new dash constructed from heavy-duty cast aluminum. The center area of the dash is available in both a low profile and a raised design for mounting of sirens, radios and other electronic equipment. The officer’s side has a very low profile as well and is designed to provide additional leg room.

On the front of the cab is a polished stainless steel grill with LED strip lights that can be configured as daytime running lights

The overhead console is also constructed from heavy duty aluminum and is hinged for easy service access. A raised profile center section is available to provide increased visibility. The high capacity air conditioning system is all new and designed to provide additional visibility inside the cab by being closer to the ceiling. The A/C system also provides excellent air distribution with eight (8) vents located in the rear of the cab and six (6) vents in the front.

On the front of the cab is a polished stainless steel grill with LED strip lights that can be configured as daytime running lights or turn signals, allowing for additional forward warning lights. LED headlights are standard on the 2019 Typhoon. The new cab also includes AXIS Smart Truck Technology, providing the ability to remotely monitor the health or condition of the chassis and fire apparatus systems.

updates and refinements

The 2019 Typhoon cab’s features are in direct response to customers who have requested various updates and refinements. “We are very excited in the release of the new Typhoon cab. It’s loaded with updates and refinements based on customer input” said Joe Hedges, E-ONE Product Manager.
