Huntingdon Fire Station is opening its doors to the public on Saturday August 10 for a free event that promises something for all the family. The station will be open for members of the public to come and find out what life is like at a fire station and take a look around our fire engines.
Activities on the day include dunk a firefighter, raffle, face painting, and a BBQ. There’ll also be a vintage fire engine and memorabilia on show. They’ll be joined by colleagues from Cambridgeshire Constabulary and Magpas Air Ambulance.
Careers with Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Service
For those interested in finding out more about careers with Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service, their Recruitment team will be available to talk about future opportunities with them.
Crew Commander Paul Whitaker who’s organizing the event said: "This is a great way for the community to find out more about what we do while supporting a fantastic cause. There’ll be lots of activities for all the family and we’re very excited to welcome everyone to the station!”
The event will run from 11am to 3pm at Huntingdon Fire Station. Money raised from the event will be donated to The Fire Fighter’s Charity, who support members of the fire service community around the country, in areas of heath, wellbeing, advice information, family and child programs, recuperation and more.
