During the outbreak of COVID-19 Hunter Apparel Solutions Limited (Hunter) had the privilege to work in partnership with Kent and Medway Towns Fire Authority, as National leads for PPE and Clothing within the fire sector and the UK Government to co-ordinate, source, manufacture, and supply vital PPE to the frontline emergency services and health sectors as part of what has now become the UK National Framework for Fire and public sector organizations and other parts of the UK’s critical infrastructure or key working organizations.

As a technology driven UK manufacturer with a highly skilled team of procurement, logistics, and PPE professionals all powered by innovative, state of the art technologies Hunter quickly rallied all their resources and committed to delivering success on this immense challenge.

During the initial stages Hunters team worked alongside the National Procurement Hub’s Fire PPE Technical Lead to understand the product range and requirements and the British Safety Industry Federation to complete a rigorous due diligence process on every product offered across the framework.

Once Hunters team had identified the appropriate products and due diligence was completed Hunters procurement each team utilized their long-standing relationships with specialist factories and logistics suppliers to ensure product manufacturing schedules could be agreed and pricing stabilized regardless of the continuing influx of global demand for their services.

Hunter logistics team together with the National Procurement Hub navigated the numerous challenges that arose in ensuring the product was released from their country of origin and delivered to the UK as swiftly as possible. Prior to arrival to the UK, a full delivery plan was issued to ensure the product was efficiently delivered to each customer allocated destination with clear consignment information.

So far, this partnership has benefited over 75 UK organizations and has seen over 50 million units of PPE delivered. Hunters ability to successfully deliver a reliable, certified, and ethically sourced product has allowed them to now extend their framework agreement formally to continue as a preferred contracted supplier for COVID-19 related consumable products and services.

AI sizing technology

This framework will also include the globally renowned AI sizing technology that allows an entire workforce to be sized for garments without the need to use a sizing set which can be a vector of infection for viruses.
